Installation Manager keeps pausing

I've been trying to download the 1GB installation file but it keeps pausing. PC has plenty of available resources and internet connection is solid. The lack of a direct download or offline installer is infuriating. I've been a customer since 2012 and have purchased several iterations of the software. Can I expect the same if I migrate to Vegas?
