Hi,

There are some detials needed and not mention in your question,

How you are going to add your Guitar, through audio interface/direct to computer or using multi track recorder?

You should connect your Guitar Line in of your soundcard, note not the line for Mic.

If you are using windows computer please alos confirm from Control Panel/Sound that line is not muted or folow whatever method you like to confirm.

Whatever your are using bsic is in Music maker click on "Y" key then you will see a window about Program settings, click on Audio/Midi tab and on left side choose ASIO driver click OK and exit.

Later in Magix Music Maker you can record track. Look at left side your will see tracks with number 1,2,3 and so on on each track there is a

Solo, Mute, Rec, FX click on Rec then look at the middle you fill find a Red dot button along with stop/play etc click this record button audio recording window will appear do settings and record. For details follow pdf inside Program folder of the program.

Hope this answer will help you.

In addition to the audio interface mentioned by nihon94, I've recently noticed that some retailers are offering a instrument-to-USB cable.  This should be a simple and relatively inexpensive way to connect your guitar to your computer.

Here's an example...

BTW...The output of a guitar may not be high enough to feed directly into the Line In of a soundcard without a pre-amp.
