I actually already try to desactivate and unistall the software but it did not work. Maybe I've done it in a wrong way ?

I have actually installed the correct version of the software according to my user account ("Movie Studio 2022 Platinum").

My main issue is that between the 18 and the 2022 version, some effects does not react the same, such as for example the origin of the video. With my version (2022), the origin of the video is set to be in the middle of the picture. For the 18 version, the origin is in the top left corner. Is there any parameter that I can adjuste to also have the origine in the top left corner ?

Also, I still have my issue were I cannot export to mp4. I did succeed once or twice and all of sudent, I cannot anymore (as exlpained in my first message).

Hi.

As you may have guessed by now, projects made in newer versions are not always backwards compatible.

Projects made in the previous version should open normally. but not earlier than Movie Studio 2021 as it is a different program to the earlier Vegas Movie Studio 18. Those projects cannot be opened fully by either MS2021 or MS2022 as none of the previous plugins from those versions are currently working within the new program.

If you need to move a clip that is smaller than the frame then use the Size / Position / Rotation tool to drag it into the position you need or reset the appropriate boxes by pressing the >< key in those boxes and use the ◆ Diamond key in the key editor to manually place the setting for the program to remember it if it is not automatically placed there.

How are you trying to export MP4 files?

Ray, there is no Movie Studio 2021; it is/was called Movie Studio 18 (the first Movie Studio version based on MEP). The next version of Movie Studio is Movie Studio 2022.

@L.E The Size/Position/Rotation issue you are seeing is a re-designed method of dealing with the feature. The Movie Edit Pro users on MEP 2022 are on the same "learning curve" as you. Have a look at this thread:

As Ray says, your Magix account will show what software you can download. If Movie Studio 18 is there, you should be in business after you have completely uninstalled Movie Studio 2022.

Magix Movie Studio 2022 was an update to Magix Movie Studio 18, released just a couple of weeks or so ago. As Ray @CubeAce has written, this "problem" of the Size/Position/Rotation tool is one which has exercised a number of posters to the forum who use Movie Edit Pro! Movie Studio is a "rebadged" version of Movie Edit Pro; it is Magix longer-term intention that the two products will merge into one.

Unfortunately because you did not immediately download your copy of MMS 18 but waited until MMS 2022 was released you have been rather "caught out" by the release of the latter coming quite soon after the former. If none of the solutions offered here give you access to the MMS 18 download I think you should email infoservice@magix.net, fully explain the situation to them and ask if they can give you the link to download the older version.

Which I really do not understant is that we purchased the 7 licenses at the same moment, for the Movie Studio 18 version.

Some of my coworkers downaloaded and installed the soft as soon as the SN were given and me, I waited a few more weeks before to do so. Then, I received the 2022 version instead of the 18, but I have actually purchased the 18 version. I do not undertsand...

@AAProds So you are telling me that the "Size/Position/Rotation issue" I am facing is effectively due to a difference betweem the 18 and 2022 version ?

What I mean is that when I put 0;0 as a coordinate of a feature, it get automatically aligned in the middle of the picture like this :

Wheras on the 18 version (the on of my colleagues), this 0;0 point is located in the top left corner. It means that when my colleague try to open the project I'ce made with my version, it does not work as expected.

But, If I understood correctly, there is no way to change this as the 18 and 2022 version changed the way to handle the size and position of the features ?

@CubeAce Yes, I am trying to export to mp4 as you show. But I have the following error message :

It is in French but it bassically says that I need to try without the hardware acceleration. When I do so, I have the following error message :

It says that "an error occured while exporting with an external video codec. Please check and modify the exporting parameters (resolution, image format, etc.). It is sometimes recommended to use standards parameters." But I am actually using the predifined MP4 parameters. How could I restore the standard parameters ?

I think I will try to write to "infoservice@magix.net" to either move all of my colleagues to the 2022 version if that is possible. That would be better for us for compatibility reasons (I don't want to have half of my colleagues with the 18 version and the other half with the 2022)...

Hi.

I would have thought if you all had the same batch of licensing as a group (and within a year of purchase) they should all be entitled to the upgrade. Tell them to go into their programs and Under 'Help' click on 'Update on line'.

Beware sometimes the information box comes up behind the program. To get it to the front of the program go to the task bar and click on the icon.

It should bring up this box.

My program is up to date.

As for the export warnings.

First check your movie settings are correct by going into the programs File / Settings / Movie. Make sure the settings are correct for the project settings.

Then go to the export settings you used last and at the top tick the 'Display all' box and open the list using the drop-down tab to the right after selecting the mp4 export option.

Export the file giving it an appropriate name.

If that is what you have already done you may have to give us more screen shots of each stage of your choices.

If any of your colleges have kept the downloaded version of MMS18, you should be able to use that on your PC, only apply your own license once asked for.

About the version issue of the software, I do not want to go back to 18 because we will purchase some new licenses for new coworkers and I do not want to have some of them with the 18 and some of the others with the 2022... I guess I will contact "infoservice@magix.net" to ask if we can have an update to the 2022 version for all my colleagues that are with the 18.

@CubeAce The trick about the "Update on line" does not work because it says "No update found"... But thanks for the help.

About the mp4 encoding I am really doing the things as simple as possible.

I tried to export to avi and it is working so the issue is really related to the mp4 codec.
