I need a bigger screen (about 22"). Just for making music. Computer monitor or television?

Your choice, but I would go for the monitor. I have 27in and 25in hi-resolution (1920x1080) monitors. Bigger is better.

Having just investigated whether to go for a TV or dual monitors I would recommend you buy a monitor.

All the TV's I looked at require HDMI input and if your graphics card / motherboard does not have this then they are a no go.

Picture quality is also worse then a monitor unless you go for a 4k TV which then creates another issue - the TV's are too big and close for comfortable viewing.

I finally bought a pair of 23" monitors ( I work dual screen for Movie Edit Pro) - dual screen is not necessary for Music Maker.

Do make sure that the monitors have VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs - this will future proof you.
