... which we bought in 2018. 3 years later we're on 6? Version 2 is no longer available for download? How much to jump from 3 to 6? Something about 3 being a standalone? I had these questions for sales, but was directed here.

They should give you the download links for version 2 and 3. Version 3 should work fine as a standalone version with your serial number.
You don't need to upgrade to version 6 if you don't want to. Version Pro X3 is still very good. You can get upgrades at the Magix shop https://www.magix.com/int/music/samplitude/ if you would like to have the new features.
