@Bill-the-repair-guy

Hi,

Assuming that you downloaded and installed the Extra Content, Backgrounds are under Templates tab, Image Objects, Backgrounds. You can always find other backgrounds on the internet or make your own.

There are other ways. What is the purpose of the background? Ex. to go with a portrait video clip in a landscape project?

Snapshot:

  1. If you mean that you want a still image on the timeline from a video that is on the timeline, place the playback marker, right-click, select Insert still image at the playback marker. You can modify the duration like any image.
  2. If you mean that you want to export an image from a video clip to a file, then, place the playback marker at that location, top menu File, Export movie, Single frame as jpeg.

See this tutorial:

@Bill-the-repair-guy Hi, there is another option,

Drag a Background onto the timeline, right click on it - Properties & it will give you this folder address

On mine it's this but yours might be slightly different

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Movie Studio Platinum Content\VideoEffects\BackgroundEffects\Pictures,

Find that folder & paste a jpg image in there, I've added a picture of a house.

Also in that folder is another folder called Icons, you have to paste the same image with the same name in that folder as well.

Back in MS it should update 👍
