I have an external drive that I want to use. I imported my clips to it anf then went into Edit. I can play them in the window but it won't let me pull them down into the time line or copy them there?

Your clips are in the external hard drive and you can play in the window but in Movie editor you can not do anything right?

Before you proceed are you sure your clips are in right format that your software support? if so then read below please.

You can do two things these are safe and there will be no problem.
First turn off your external hard drive or remove from computer.
Then clear your browswer history and cookies.(Internet Browser)
Turn off computer after few minutes turn on.
Turn on your soft that you use.
Now Turn on external hard drive or attach to computer.
Try what you want to do see if this works.
