I am giving up on ever playing my guitar through effects in music maker 16

I thought music maker would let me play my guitar through the effects and let me hear and see them and ajust them as I played. I have looked into it and have checked the playback while recording. Some how I thought I could play through the effects but all I get is that lame audio box on the left and still no sound. The fact is even if I had sound that box will not let me go any where else within the program. I want a good program to play my guitar through on my computer. Can any one recommend a good one. Right now IM looking at an older line 6 interface that plugs into the USB port. I like Music maker 16 but I really don't think it can do what I wanted it to do. IM going to look on utube to see if there is any information on this. Thanks for reading this mess. Thomas

I guess it may have been because they show a guy playing a guitar on the box or something of that nature. As far as I know no one has recommended Magix Vandal that I am now looking into. But for $200.00 it is going to have to do a lot more than amp modeling and effects. So far all I know is it has effects and I want recording options as well. I have all of the effects and recording stuff I need but not computer based. And to really answer your question about why I thought that it would do what I thought it would. It would have if I designed it, but I couldn’t even design pong. IM going to look into Vandal but it is not in my price range yet.
