Humble Bundle $40 credit

Matthew-Short wrote on 8/13/2020, 2:08 AM

I recently purchased the Humble Bundle "your sounds, your movies" bundle and in it was a $40 magix music maker store credit coupon. However the store only lets you purchase one thing at a time so I added the coupon code for an initial purchase of a $17.99 product and purchased it intending to use the rest on additional instrument purchases. On the next purchase I was told that the whole purchase would need to be paypal, and upon entering the coupon code again it said I had already used it. Is there any way to get my additional $22.01 in store credit?

No, it's not a credit. It's just a coupon. Coupons can only be used one time. But you can buy multiple humble bundles and get a new coupon each time.

You can't add multiple things to the shopping cart to use the whole "coupon" AND it doesn't add to an account. I've never heard of such a thing.

Thanks for the insults. Very helpful.

You are right. I didn't see the notice and presumed it worked like every other store offer I've ever seen. I also lumped it in to the full purchase (not the $1 that it was actually included with).

EDIT: A lot of self moderation going on here, so I'll keep my response intact to keep the thread from getting more disjointed than it threatens to be...

Please keep reading the follow up replies. I'm embarrassed to say that my initial reply above came across as far stronger than I would normally say and I've since pruned it down to voice some of my displeasure without the shouting. I was upset at finding I had lost some of my virtual bucks. Some insults were given (and retracted, thank you!) and then I responded here.

I've cooled off, and I want to formally apologize and say thank you to browj2 for pointing out the info I had missed.

@SlabMcRunfast

My insults were commensurate with your message which I see that you've now changed. So, I'll go back and moderate my comment. And, if you check out the forum, you will see that I am not anonymous.

There is very little in the Store that is sold for less than the amount of the voucher - $9.99. Use the vouchers wisely.

FWIW, "Anonymity" was used in the form of "not in person" and the behavior that faceless distance can sometimes allow for and even encourage (myself included!). I appreciate you coming back and talking it out.

You are correct, I changed my post to take it down a notch. I was upset and came off much more strongly than I should have (again, the anonymity thing at play).

Immediately after editing my original reply, I realized it would come off as underhanded and wasn't fair to you. I was just writing up an "EDIT:" disclaimer so that people would know you had been responding to my unnecessarily strongly written reply when I saw I had a notice of your response.

Thank you for moderating your response as well. I'm all for taking it down a notch and extending an olive branch as it were.

Anyway...

Let's start over.

It's nice to meet you. I appreciate you taking the time to point out what I had missed. Thank you.

@SlabMcRunfast

Great!

And, it is important that you point out that people should be cautious about how they use the voucher, as it's a one-shot deal.

To that, I'll add that it's important to check that one does not already have the Soundpool loops in some older form. Magix does give an indication as to where the "new" loops come from, like some old volume or version. Since I have many Soundpools from way back, I read the details and check first that I don't already have the same thing under an old name.

@browj2

Good tip on the old Sound Pools. Thanks!

At the risk of muddying the thread, do you know if you can use multiple coupons on one order? I have my eye on one of the $50 packs and have a $10 and $20 coupon burning a hole in my pocket that I'd love to use on the one order.

SP. wrote on 12/4/2020, 6:18 PM

@SlabMcRunfast Like I wrote earlier, if you want to get more out of the coupons it is the best idea to buy the cheapest Humble Bundle tier multiple times. I think you can buy it up to three times per week with one user account. From today until the end of the bundle you could get up to 18 coupons. Not a bad deal.

Using multiple coupons is not possible.

SlabMcRunfast wrote on 12/4/2020, 6:24 PM

Yeah, it is a pretty good deal (making me even more embarrassed about my initial response... thanks! 😉). Even without purchasing multiple times.
