How to zoom in on a picture

kilbourncm wrote on 12/13/2015, 10:23 PM

Hi all, I've been using Movie Edit Pro to make a short documentary and I'm trying to display a picture, then zoom in slowly on the very center of it.  The Camera/Zoom settings under Effects aren't doing much for me.  I can make it zoom in maybe 15% then it stops, still zoomed most of the way out.  Does anyone know how I could zoom in on a small detail of a very large and high definition photo?

Thanks,

CK

Hi,

Read through this thread and look at some of the tutorials about resizing images/videos.

Use Effects, Size/Position and then use the slider or change the numbers or resize and drag the image around in the Preview monitor. Make sure that you are in Edit mode and not Preview mode - in Size/Position, if the button says Preview then you are in Edit mode. Use keyframes for the zoom effect - look up how to do this in the manual and in the tutorials. Here is a good tutorial.

Hey, thanks!  I was finally able to figure it out after reading this and tinkering around a bit.  If anyone's looking for a  more specific answer, I ended up following these directions but zooming out on the preview window, then expanding the "box" with the dotted lines until it was much bigger than the actual frame.  This zoomed in on the section I wanted to zoom in on.
