How to upgrade MainConcept codec?

Is there an easy path for upgrading the Main Concept codecs used for rendering MPEG-4 Video and Audio?

For example when I click on the Advanced Audio Settings and try to change the AAC setting to AAC v.1 or v.2 (see image below), after applying and closing out of the dialogues I am informed that these features are locked out of my version of this software. Additionally, I would like to be able to render HD-AAC to MPEG 4 video for when I am creating video for Blu-Ray as my focus is MUSIC and I want the sound-quality to to be CD quality so I am thinking that an upgraded or unlocked Main Concept codec would solve this problem. How to do that?

Thank you, jeremy

Hi

The problem is due to the preset you selected not having the HD-AAC audio as an option for the video output format.

Certain combinations do not allow the HD-AAC codecs to be used as they are not part of the 'standard format' allowed for a given preset format .

AFAICS the HD-AAC is not standardised for use in mp4 video and is designed for compatibility with iPods and AAC-enabled mobile phones  (I stand to be corrected on this).

The HD formats for BD that I have tried - the AVCHD and HDTV (all options) all appear to be unable to use the HD-AAC.

For a Bluray video I think you are going to have to accept a lower audio quality which I think most people would not notice the difference.

Hi

If sound is more important than picture then I would use the MPEG2 HD option in the Bluray burn dialogue which will then allow you to select PCM Stereo or 5.1 (which is CD quality at 1536kbps) in the audio settings tab.

Cheers
