How to split audio tracks in a multi-track video

KaciFox wrote on 2/8/2013, 2:58 AM

I have Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus and I see that the program detects that the video that I import has multiple tracks yet I do not see any way to split the tracks or merge the tracks or anything else.  Maybe I missed something but all I can find is a way to select track 1 or track 2 to play.  Even if I make a copy of the track from the video and its unlinked when I switch tracks on one it switches tracks on both

Hi

Has the video surround sound or multi langauge audio tracks?

For surround sound right click the audio and select Audio and waveform display, extract sound channels as shown in this image

This will seperate out the audio inot the three stereo channels Front L + R, Rear L + R and Centre + Sub Woofer (Low Frequency). as shown here

I am not sure on multi language audio tracks however I would expect the same to happen with these as above.

Hi

Because the tracks are seperate audio, as you have said, you will not get the options I posted.

What is the source of the video - your description suggests it is, for example, a video which has a normal sound track and an optional commentary track - possibly from a DVD.
