How to restore presets in Sound Forge Pro 12.1

Hi all,

I recently had to reinstall Sound Forge Pro 12.1 and I lost all my presets for effects and settings. I have Most of them saved in a file created using the SCS preset manager utility when I had SF Pro 11. Is there any way to restore these from the .sfpreset file to the latest version? If not then how can I get them back? -- Thanks.

If you reinstall SF-11 and PreSet manager, reload the chain presets to SF-11, they may be usable in Pro 12 since the FX structure is similar. You also could re-save the presets by themselves and reconstruct the chains. FX chains that I had created in Pro 10 are listed in Pro 12 but will not load. But the structure is significantly different.

Regarding the other customized settings, There is a batch file for transferring settings from Pro 12.0 to Pro 12.1. Don't know if it will help but see this post:

Hi rraud.

I thought about your first suggestion, but I just restored my system and don't really want to install any more programs.

Can you explain what you mean about saving the presets by themselves and recreating them. How could I do this?

Since you do not want to reinstall Pro 11, I don't know of a way offhand. Otherwise with Pro 11 installed, you could recreate them by opening the chain in Pro 11, then saving each plug-in's preset individually. Then reconstructing the chain in SF12 and applying each plug-in's newly saved preset. A PITA for sure, but I cant think of a work around. Do you actually have the chains saved. If so, try reinstalling Preset Manager, and see if it work with Pro 12. They chains may work with x86 Pro 12.. don't know about 64 bit Pro 12, If all the plugs are where they where when Pro 11 was used, it may.
