How to record mono guitar as 2 channels in one go?

Hi,

When I look at the Magix tutorial you can see that 2 channels are recorded for 1 track with a mono instrument.

I do not get it to work like that in my Samplitude 2019 [recording via focusrite 2i4 using W10]. Any tips?

PS: The trick with converting it afterwards into 2 channels works, but this must be one of the most normal features and it drives me nuts that audacity, cubase etc have it since years. I must be doing something wrong.
