How to record audio from a specific point in time & add tracks

On Magix Music Maker, I've been trying to record my voice, but every time I hit audio record, it starts recording all the way from the beginning, which is kind of frustrating since I don't want to wait until everything else is done playing to start recording my voice. I want to be able to record my voice at the exact location where my cursor is. Also, how would one add tracks to the list here. Like instead of having the default of 8 tracks, to have more than 8 tracks.

Hi again.

I want to be able to record my voice at the exact location where my cursor is

Explore the installed Help file for how to set the Range Marker. I think this will enable you to do what you want.

Also, how would one add tracks to the list here

I assume from your screenshot that you have the basic, free edition? If so, you cannot have or use more than 8 tracks, sorry! That is a deliberate limitation.

OTOH, if you have bought an upgraded version, have you entered the serial number and activated it, including downloading all the additional content which is then available? Once you do that you will see the additional button I have highlighted on the screenshot below:

Clicking that once will add one track, and so on.

Hi

In addition to @emmrecs comment, if you have bought an upgraded version, registered and activated it, downloaded/installed all the additional content then you can specify the number of tracks to use in the Project settings as shown below

I want to be able to record my voice at the exact location where my cursor is.

Watch the orange bar and drag the start and the end of the orange bar to change the range where tou want to start the record .and finish the record .

For instance :

i have 20 bars .

i want to record midi or audio from bar 4 to 8 and 12 to 16 :

i drag the start of the orange bar to bar number 4 and i drag the end of the orange bar to the bar number .

I record .

If some input comes fter bar number , it won t be recorded

Before i record , there is the coice to descativate the "loop playback " button :

indeed , if the "loop playback button" is on , after my recording , , it loops at the start of the range of the oranger bar ,

who can , in some cases be unexpected

It s at your choice ( it can depend of the cases ) if you want to desactivate or activate it before to record , but don t forget it

I stop the recording .

No i want to record the bar 12 to 16 . , so i don t need to cgange the start and the end : only moving the orange bar is enough in this situation :

I notice it s the same length of recording ( 4 bars ) , so i can drag the middle of the orange bar to move it between bar 12 and 16 ( i move the mouse cursor on the middle of the orange bar until the mouse cursor becomes an hand , and i left click longly as a drag

If you don t want to drag but use a simple point at click , some useful shortcuts are :

shift + left click mouse : change the start of the orange bar to the position pointed by the mouse but fixed by a snap ( by beat . or by bar or by half beat etc ... )

shift + right click mouse : change the end of the orange bar to the position pointed by the mouse but fixed by a snap ( by beat . or by bar or by half beat etc ... )

simple left click moves : moves the orange bar ( if the song is played when we click , it displays some blue quares to indicate it will loop after the end of the previous range . If the song is not played , it changes the range directly )

Try too click at the same horizontal line of the orange bar . Because if you click under , it will move the red line ( who is the start of playing , not the start of the recording )
