How to properly export a finished project for viewing in WMA format

importtuner1150 wrote on 12/20/2015, 7:15 PM

Ok. Im new to this. Completely new to film editing on a "just for fun" basis. So I know nothing about the ins and outs of the Magix software and would like to make quality compositions with the footage I have aquired recently. Just one small problem.

I edit my videos and clips to my liking in Movie Edit Pro 2015 and everything looks fine in the playback before I export. So when I go to export my completed project, the footage i have previously viewed in the program looks nothing like the preview for the current export, nor the completed exported video. I'm currently using Windows to view my files.

I'll try to explain the quality of the video after export. It is splotchy, but not blurry, like there is a massive glare on the camera lens during filming. Also the coloration is off, giving mostly a black and white look to the video, and a greatly magnified red hue to any lighting in the field of view. Playback is fine, regarding audio and footage display. It's just the quality of the coloration in the exported project that is giving me problems. I know the files are fine, as they work just fine in raw form playback.

Please help, as I have many videos waiting to be seen and cannot get them from the program to another location without this issue. Thanks in advance to whomever this may concern.

Hi

. . . . .for viewing in WMA format . . . .

I think you mean WMV - WMA is an audio file format.

What settings are you using for the export - see image below

Also what is your computer specification, Windows version and do you have any extra codecs installed eg K-Lite all-in-one?

I apologize. Correct, a WMV file.

So my options for the first bar of options at the top are not as numerous as yours. My options are standard and TV 720 x 480 NTSC. Clicking the "display all" box underneath gives me the options I see on your screenshot.

I've tried the resolution at 720 x 480 and also 1920 x 1080 with the framerate for each at 29.97 and 25 with the same results.

I've also tried applying and not applying the "apply anti-interlace filter" that I see checked in your picture.

I dont know the best way to look for computer specs, so I'll just say what I see on the stickers on the bottom right of the computer. I have an Intel Core i3 processor 330M (2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB). Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD up to 1754 MB DVMT. 4 GB memory. Windows 7. My computer is an Acer Aspire 5740-5780.

As far as codecs, I'm new to the term, but it seems from research that it a program that plays different file forms for viewing on your computer. Currently all I have is Windows Media Player. The file playback is fine though, just issues with coloration. Maybe I can figure out how to screenshot so I can get a picture of the video playback to post so we can all have a better understanding. I will install K-Lite and try and see what happens and include that experience in my next response.

Thanks John EB,

Aaron

Hi,

Here is a tutorial on how to upload screen shots. Uploading video clips is similar, just a different button.

Make sure that you have updated to the latest patch - under Help, Online update.

Ok. Thanks to browj2, he helped me showcase my current situation. So here's a piece of the discolored exported video.

Thanks in advance,

Do not do this - they are unnecessary.

. . . . .there is a massive glare on the camera lens during filming . . . .

Looking at the video clip on Youtube - that is what I would have said the problem is, however you say it is not present on the original video.

Have you applied the Echo video effect to any of the video clips in MEP?

Nope. I checked video effects and didn't even see an option for that, and unless I clicked it by mistake, it shouldn't be applied, as I have no clue what that even is. I just have fades and some PIP as shown on youtube. I havent done anything crazy yet, as I'm just under a week into operating the program. This is baffling me.

Thats for the heads up about the installation.

I'm currently talking to Magix "IT person" I assume. Maybe they can help me since I have not gotten any solid answers on here. Thanks for you guys help. I ran something called a Syscheck with the installation CD and emailed them the results. Maybe this will yield some options for successs.
