Music Maker 5 is a very old version - IIRC released about 1998.
Unless you have the original program to open the VIP files, which are the project files and are not playable on their own, it is unlikely that newer versions of Music Maker can open them.
If a newer version can open open the files the instruments and sound pools may not all be present.
Once you do get the files open and everything is there you need to Export the project as an audio file in order to play it as a stand alone file with a media player.
