How to loop video and audio in Movie Studio 2023?

Hi community!

I recently upgraded from Vegas Movie Studio 11 to Movie Studio 2023, and I have one thing that really frustrates me and I cannot seem to find by googling!

How do I loop a piece of audio (or video for that matter?). I am used to being able to just drag the audio loop and it will loop it all.

I simply cannot find a solution to it now other than copy pasting a tiny clip over and over (which is impossible to do a curve on to manage audio levels in a meaningful way)

Hello and welcome to the user to user forums.

I have made a short video for you.

As you may have noticed or know. The program is no longer the same as the one you once had. Movie Studio was dropped for development by the Vegas team and was replaced by a rebadged version of Magix Video Deluxe (known in some countries as Movie Edit Pro before the name change. As such it will be getting used to a new work flow but the program has many more features than the old Vegas Movie Studio.

However it wasn't quite what I meant, so I will try and explain it a bit better through an example.

Lets say I have a 20 second piece of music that can be looped.

And I have a 10min video.

I want to be able to use that 20second clip as background music for that 10min video. That is what I am looking for in Movie Studio :D

Hi.

Trim the audio object to length. Right click the object and select copy object and then place cursor where you want the next object to be and select paste. Keep selecting paste to keep adding the audio. Make sure the track header is selected for the track you wish to paste to.

When you have to add the loop more than a few times, there is a quicker method as shown below:

You can do this and much more very simply in Magix Music Maker 2023 which is free.

Import your loop. Simply drag the right end to the desired duration. Export as wave. Import into Movie Studio.

You can also use Music Maker for scoring.

You can send your video with audio directly to Music Maker from Movie Studio - under Share in the top menu. Then, add whatever audio you want, mix it, slice and dice it, master it. Mute the unwanted original audio, export to wave, import to Movie Studio.

Use the best tool for the job.
