I have my storyboard all ready to go, pics, vids and music, but I want to change my intro and outro but when i delete the one I have, to add a new one, all my stuff moves around out of sync. How do I lock everything together so it doesnt move when l i take out the intro i dont want?

I am working with MEP 2016 premium

when I hit all the locks on each track, then it wont let me delete the intro i want deleted. Other things are on the same track as the intro

Hi Pat,

You're making progress. Make sure that you are in Timeline mode, not Storyboard. Select the Intro. You will see that a bunch of objects are selected, including your opening object that the Intro is linked to. Click on the Ungroup button (Shift+G). Make sure that you are in Mouse mode for a single object (6). Now delecte all of the Intro stuff but keep your original linked object. Now select Mouse mode for all tracks (7). Drag the first object back to the beginning - everything will follow. Go to the End and do the same thing with the Outro, if you have one. No need to move anything. Select Mouse mode for a single object (6). Go back to Home, select the first object that you want to link the new Intro to, then insert the new intro. It will automatically set everything up properly.

There is a simpler way. Simply select the Intro object and all Intro objects will be highlighted. Now select and insert a different Intro. It should replace the previous Intro. Make sure to select and Intro and not and Outro.

Look at how everything is set up in the Intro. Use it as a learning experience. You can modify these by ungrouping them and playing with the effects. You can also make your own.

awesome. Thanks. It worked. Sorry, yes i was in timeline mode, not storyboard.

yes I have been working on this for a few weeks, trying to figure things out. But before i installed this, (and was in trial mode) I found lots of tuturials, but it seems I can't find half of them now when I want them?? If I do find them, most of them speak in english, but the pc is in German or something??

I am trying not to use the already made templates, as I find I learn more things doing it myself. I had alot of questions but slowly figured out the answers, 35 screwed up DVDs later!  I bought another 100 today!! Gawd...

I have the "basics" down for editing a video and the audio. But like to dabble more into the video editing. Spent two weeks on the slide show/video side of it. Time to change it up.....

Thanks again

Hi pat

. . . . 35 screwed up DVDs later!  I bought another 100 today!! Gawd... . . . .

That can also be fixed - get a few, eg a 5 pack, DVD-RW rewriteable discs for burning to until you are satisfied with the final product - you can erase / re-use them as needed.

Once you have the final version on DVD-RW, burn to DVD-R using MEP or copy the disc with another DVD burning program such as Nero or ImgBurn.

My preferred method is to use Nero as it can burn to multiple discs at once (I have multiple DVD/BD drives), this saves time if I need several discs making.

Another 'trick' I do, once the project is complete, is to lock all the tracks - using the lock icon at start of each track - so no 'accidental changes' can be made and save the project.

Are you making backups of your source data and projects?

Good to see MEP is doing what you want and you are getting on well with it.

Cheers
