How to freeze a 3D moving title ?

Philippeko wrote on 6/15/2012, 5:30 PM

I use a spinning 3D animated title (the one called "simple 1"). After couple of rotations, I would like this title to stop spinning, and to remain in a given position on the video. How shall I do this in Magix Movie Edit Pro MX Plus v 11.0.0.42? I tried to add a "still frame", but I only get a blank clip. Thank you for your input.

Philippeko,

Though 3D titles appear on the timeline like other object like video clips or still images, I believe they are rather like placeholders for the code which generates the title animation. Hence you can't do the usual freeze frame.

I'd suggest one way of getting the effect you want would be to place a copy of your 3D title in a section of track with nothing else on it (or mute the current background) and then export just this title section as a short video clip. Now you have 'real' video and can bring it into your project to give you the usual freeze frame options.

Hope this helps,

Carl

Hi

Alternatively  you can

1.  Create the 3d title as normal

2. Position the timeline cursor at the point where you want the freeze to occur - do not move this once you have done step 3

3. Select File, Export movie, Single frame as jpg - name the file and save in the desired location.

Depending on how you want the title to end do one of the following:-

-  To freeze the start or end  -

      a.  Cut the the 3d title at the current cursor position and delete the start or end

      b.  Insert the image saved in step 3 at the start or end of the animated title

-   To freeze a middle section and then continue the animated title -

      a.  Drag the cut title apart creating a gap for the image saved in step 3

      b. Insert the image created in step 3, adjust its length to the time you want for the freeze.  Close up any gaps.

The image below shows this done

Also your MEP is not up to date - there is an update patch 11.0.5.0 available - to get it click Help, Online update
