Unfortunately, without a lot more information about your computer, which version of the program, what you have tried so far, etc., etc., it is almost impossible for anyone to offer any help or advice.
I think what calvin-kennedy is trying to tell, is that he/she didn't setup the audio input handling.
You should find audio input source in program settings. Select your audio interface as audio input and be sure to use ASIO drivers if you run Windows. This is all I can help at this point.
If you still don't know what to do, you can:
Post your OS and hardware configuration. Do you hear sounds eg. in media player? Is the volume set up correctly? OR
Do some google search, find answers by yourself :)
I rather suspect the OP has either resolved his problem himself or he is no longer interested since he has only made the one post to the forum and has not come back to add any further information or ask any more questions.
. . . . and be sure to use ASIO drivers if you run Window . . . .
To expand your comment - using the installed ASIO drivers is one of the big issues that occurs regularly with MMM.
Many audio cards are not ASIO compatible and when you use these drivers you cannot hear any audio playback if you are trying to record while listening to audio already laid down.
In this situation it is necessary to install and use the ASIO4All drivers, these are deigned to work with non ASIO compliant sound cards.
You're absolutely right. And I think this is the most common issue right after installation: Why can't I hear anything? And the first thing that should come to mind is that, if I use the correct sound drivers.
btw, you do a great job on this forum!

That is why I posted this here. If not for the thread starter, it is for future google searches.
