How to do Chording in Music Maker 16 Premium

awais11 wrote on 8/25/2010, 4:33 PM

Hi,

I have recently started using Music Maker 16 Premium. I am trying to make my own song in Music maker. What I cannot understand is how to insert chords when I am using Acoustic Guitar as an Instrument in MMM. Can anyone please assist in this, I am really jaded out looking for ways on using chords (Major/Minor).

I previously used FL Studio and it had a Piano Roll which inserted Chords as you define the chord type required in it e.g. Em and it had it IN. I am blank over doing this in MMM.

Regards,

Awais.

Hi,

If I am not wrong what you are upto is not possible in Music Maker 16 Premium.

But if you want you can use Midi Editor to record. Open Magix Music Maker 16 Premium turn off Easy mode, click on Synthesizer it is located in Media Pool  Soundpool/File Manager/ Synthesizer, When you will click on Synthesizer you could see available vst plugins double click on Vita Midi Editor will be opened, here you can edit, recrod etc.

As I do not usel in this chord things, I will suggest for more help about Midi editor please use Pdf help file located in the program folder or use help from Music Maker.

Hope this answer will give you some idea.

I do like FL studio and Cubase.

Thank you

You cannot "insert" preset chords into the Vita MIDI editor.  MMM is not that sophisticated.

Your only options are to "play" them on the computer keyboard (or an external keyboard controller) OR "draw" them in Vita one note at a time.

Your question and reply are a little puzzling.  It's not clear if you are asking about Soundpool objects or the Vita MIDI editor.  There are soundpool objects of acoustic guitar as well as an acoustic guitar "instrument" in Vita.

Since you referred to the acoustic guitar "instrument", I assumed you were asking about Vita. In Vita, you are able to play or draw any chord(s) you wish.

However, the soundpool objects are what they are, and they cannot be changed.

You can, however, create your own chord sequences in Vita.  You can either leave them as a MIDI object (which can be edited) or export them as an audio object (that cannot be edited) and import that into your arrangement.

Yeah I am talking about the instrument. How can I draw chords in Vita, can you tell me that? I was unable to figure that out.

In Vita you will see a "Mouse Mode" menu at the top of the MIDI editor OR, just below it, there is a toolbar with the same tools.  If you hover over each tool with your cursor, the tool tip will tell you what it is and what it does.

Basically, you pick the "pencil" tool, then click and drag a note on the piano roll to create notes of various lengths. You can click on the keyboard on the left side of the MIDI editor to preview different notes.

The "eraser" tool will obviously allow you to erase any unwanted notes.

The "cursor" tool will allow you to move and stretch notes as well as manipulate velocity.

The velocity tool will allow you to assign the strength of individual notes.  You can click on the velocity editor icon to the left to see an editable graphic representation of the various note velocities.

You can also make copies of chords and patterns.

If you play with these controls for a little while, I'm sure you'll figure it out pretty quickly.
