How to delete parts of video

TXUSA wrote on 2/17/2015, 3:46 PM

I am using Movie Edit Pro 2013 and am brand new to movie editing.  For the life of me I cannot figure out the easy way to delete dead parts of my video in order to make it shorter.  It is just a short video of 47 seconds duration that I put together to learn from.

Say for example I want to delete scenes between the 30 second mark and the 32 second mark.  How can I easily accomplish this simple task?  I've looked at the training videos and other online help but for some reason none of it makes any sense to me.  I figure if I can get a handle on just this one simple task then I can move forward and learn the other movie editing stuff.  I know this is the simplest editing task possible, but I am stuck at the starting gate.  Help!  Tks.

Hi

Read through the installed PDF manual - the immediate functions you need are Split, Trim, Remove start and Remove end functions - see under Help in the program.

Sorry for the late response.  Thanks, I will do that.  I guess the initial confusion I have is with the proper  terminology.  I'll go back and look at "trim" and "split" and figure it out from there.  I kept looking for things like cut and delete.

Hi,

Open the manual and read the Quick Start chapter so that you at least have a basic understanding.

What you want to do is Cut - which starts on page 27. It is illustrated in the manual.
