Hi,

It would help if you told which program and version you are using, and a much better description as to what you have done and are trying to do. What tools are you talking about?

In piano roll, you are just basically modifying notes, not sounds. Sound is provided by the instrument for the track that contains the MIDI object.

@KINEGE

John C.B. asked you to tell us exactly which version of the program you are using. You need to look at Help>About Magix Music Maker and tell us what version number is shown there.

From the video you posted it appears that what you want to do is to convert audio to MIDI, presumably so that you can edit the pitch, timing etc. of the original audio. If you do a search in the program Help files for "audio to midi" I think you will find the information you are looking for.

Hi

@KINEGE

AFAICS Music Maker does not support audio to midi conversion as you indicate in FL 12.

There are several VST's available which can do the same function, however, as I have found, they have limitations.

Best conversion attained is with single instrument mono audio, vocals or a multi instrument audio track do not convert well, if at all.

Searching Google for 'audio to midi vst' will find many such converters.

Imho best results will give you Celemony Melodyne on this. But it is unfortunately not very cheap.

I would heartily endorse this; Melodyne, in its various versions, is an amazing piece of kit, allowing as it does the editing/correction of single notes within a recorded part, even one note in a chord (provided it is one of the versions that includes the "DNA" - Direct Note Access - facility, the two cheapest versions, "Essential" and "Assistant" do not).

Melodyne Editor (the "cheaper" version which includes DNA) is going to set you back €399, RRP!
