How do you record music made with Vita to use in a track?

I'm new to Musci Maker 16 and have just discovered Vita. I love using the keyboard to make music but I can't figure out how to get tunes over to a track. I've managed a couple of times to get Midi to open and use the instrument there, and tried using the Record button there, but there's no sound when I play the track. I've tried the help files but am completely lost...

Any help would really be appreciated

Right click on an empty track and select create new object - midi track. Or simply double click vita and a demo midi track will open ... click play and the midi file will make notes where the shaded blocks appear on the grid ... like one of those old pianos that had a paper roll full of holes that played itself. Have a play with this demo ... move notes around by dragging them, draw notes in yourself ... experiment.

I don't think you can record your mouse playing the on screen keyboard - you can play back with any instrument - sectect your instrument (vita etc) using the drop down box circled red below. Have a play with the midi editor and try again with the instruction manual ... sometimes it makes more sense when you have experimented a bit yourself - don't be afraid to play, if you get all messed-up just delete that midi track and start again you can't break it

To use the record button in the midi editor you would need to have an external midi keyboard connected.

hope that helps
