Trying to change from String Ensemble Default to String Ensemble Intimate, actually anything other than the default String Ensemble Default is the goal. The menu list various selections in addition to the default. How do I select one of the others.

Well....bacically, you move your cursor over on top of one of tahe listed Ensemble and .....click on it. I somehow feel theree is more to this question, am I wrong ? If this proceedure works for you, this is how ALL the features of your program work. Good luck
Through asking around and reading have found that is how it is supposed to work but it does not. From some of the other questions I have read this may just be a problem related to Windows 8.1. When I open the instrument editor the chosen selection does not make it to the midi object as it maintains the default selection when the editor is closed not the new selection.
Appreciate the input and have already re installed the program, reset and all other functions appear to work fine except this one. Will keep working this to find an answer if there is one.

I'm running 8.1 on a PC, Intel i5, 4th generation and so far my Magix is working as it should be. Are you just having problems with String Ensemble ? If thats all, go bac to Magix downloads and just try and download the feature package its located in....perhaps it got corrupted during your first try. Be sure to delete the old feature package first.
Good luck.....new thought..have you kept current with Magix patches ?
