How do I record in mono?

leeneikirk wrote on 12/22/2014, 1:22 PM

Hi. I'm recording with Magix Music Maker 2014 Premium using a Blue Nessie USB microphone. I was having the problem of recording in stereo and only the left channel playing. I figured out that it's a mono microphone, so I'm trying to record in mono, but when I select mono and record nothing is recorded. Is there something else in the program I need to change to record in mono?

Edit: To clarify, I have changed from stereo to mono. When I change to mono, it doesn't record anything. Works just fine in stereo.

Hi,

Click on the parameter gear-shaped button beside the red record button and below Recording quality click on Mono instead of Stereo.

Hi,

It should work. It does in 2013 and 2015. Try monitoring with the mixer to see if it is picking up anything.

I have a similar setup using M-Audio M-Track and the associated audio driver. However, I keep losing the sound through the M-track for some reason. It works for a while and then stops. Probably a bug, most likely with MMM.

You should use the search feature on the right side of the page.  John (the other one) has answered this question in detail many times.
