Hi, I have MM14 on trial, when i try to record live guitar over a sampled drum track the playback includes the orginal drums not just the guitar, i have tried using headphones to listen to the drum track and record the guitar that way, the drum track still doubles up!!!!! any ideas??

Hello,

Generaly in your case, it is the guitar which doubles if you don't mute the track where the guitar is recorded and if the dubbing is on.

In fact it depends on your sound card and at this level what you select to listen. On my side :

.your card must be full duplex

. in MMM, mute the track of the guitar during recording in order to avoid double due to  latence problem.
. at sound card level panel, choose to listen the input of your guitar (microphone or line depending on the input you use) in order to listen in real time your guitar. Adjust the level of the mix with the drums.
. check your recording : in MMM for the guitar track, mute off, record off

Nota: during the recording, you don't get the listening of the final result of your record but only the input at the entry of your sound card, but you avoid latency problem.

If you have a low latency device, you can try to listen the result recorded and played by MMM, but you need a very low latency to avoid offset with the drums.
