How do I record a DV it won't let me?

I have a canon ZR900 miniDV camcorder and I have it connected to my computer with a 4-pin to 4-pin IEEE 1394 cable and my computer reads the camera and when I open the program the program reads the camera and I am able to play the video just as a preview but when I go to record it I click the record button and nothing happens at all. Any ideas?

Hi,

Try updating your FireWire driver or even installing a new, decent FireWire controller (e.g. Texas Instruments). From my experience, this can make a difference as far as DV capture is concerned. Other than that, maybe Magix support can help.
