Hi

Was the computer upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 ?  If so there is a known issue with corruption of some of the systems files the procedure below will fix them - your Direct X / Sound files, which are part of Windows, may be corrupted.

Note this process can take a long time -

  1. Start the computer.

  2. Do not open any programs, on your computer keyboard press and hold down the Windows key and press the X key - a popup dialog box will open

  3. Select Command prompt (Admin)

  4. A dialog box will open, type in the following  sfc /scannow   and press Enter - note there is a space between the sfc and /scannow

  5. When this has completed a message will be displayed - it may say some files canot be fixed - this is OK.

  6. Restart the computer repeat steps 2 to 4 again.

Restart the computer - Direct X should now be fixed.

HTH
