How do I export video files in exactly 23.976 fps and not 24.00 fps?

AztekStudio wrote on 8/10/2012, 6:07 PM

My imported raw video files are 1080p 24 frames per second (the real number is 23.976 frames per second).

My DVD/Blu-ray manufacturer is requesting I export edited projects at exactly 23.976 frames per second (same as the imported files) but the only option available is exactly 24.00.

When I type in 23.976 manually it rounds to 23.98.

Does MAGIX not support 23.976 fps as an export? What can I do?

Thank you,
Adrian

If you go to "file" then "settings" then "movie you should get this dialogue box

bottom right corner you should be able to set the frame rate to whatever you want.

Not sure why your burner company is telling you you must use 29.976 because that frame rate is only part of the blue ray spec.  See table below from Wikipedia

Good Luck

gandjcarr, thank you for your help, I really appreciate it, but even after doing so, it is rounded up to 23.98.

I need it to keep my camera's original fps of 23.976. The only possible way to achieve this after editing a project is by exporting uncompressed but those files are too large in size to handle.

Sounds nit-picky, I know, but I used to think "Well what the hell is the difference?!" but it makes a lot of sense when you focus on movement in the picture.

I've checked other editing software by downloading their free trials and they do offer exactly "23.976 fps" as an export option with no rounding whatsoever in the final exported file.

I haven't switched because I love editing with MAGIX but I hope they update this issue and add it as an option.
