How do I copy protect my burned DVD, using MEP MX plus

I had prepared 2 hours video for a community as a service. I wanted to know the responses from the community, on how well my first common video is received by them. If I copy protect the DVD, then, members may ask me directly for a copy, from which I could gauge the response well.

If not, if members copy the DVDs among themselves, I may not know response. If I use some commericially available CSS protect software etc., I am concerned if I would lose the good DVD menu template of what we get it from MEP-MX plus.

Any suggestion towards achieving the goal on response measure is welcome.

Hi

IIRC you are limited by which CSS system you want to use and expensive ($20,000 +) licensing for CSS or Macrovision.

AFAIK there is no software available which can do the same for home produced DVD's burned with a DVD writer.

Also there are many programs available which can break the CSS/Macrovision protection - so any savvy person can copy the DVD's anyway.

The only real option you have is to include a copyright notice at the beginning and end of the DVD.

For the beginning of the movie you can add a pre-prepared copyright video to the DVD menu (in edit mode) and it will play before the menu appears and cannot be bypassed by the DVD player as shown in this image:

This will not stop copying however.
