Not sure what you mean - change the instrument or change the music? What did you do? More details would help.

Did you watch this tutorial on getting started in MMM?

To change the sound you alter the settings in the synth interface (1) shown in the image below. See the tip below as well.

To change the music either:

  1. double click the midi track (2) that appears when you first activate the synth.  This will open the MIDI editor to allow you edit the music

    OR
     
  2. delete the midi object on the track and using a MIDI keyboard attached to the computer, or your computer keyboard - not recommended - has restricted octave range - which requires extra key stroke to move up / down the octaves, and then set up the track and instrument for midi recording - see here for how I do it.

 

TIP: before changing any synthesizer parameters save the default settings - Plugin, Save patch, this way you can revert back to the original settings by reloading the patch - I was caught out by this once and could not get the synth I was using to revert back to its default settings.
