How do I burn a dvd disc in Dolby Digital 5.1

Hi,

I can't work out how to burn a dvd in 5.1 sound.  I've edited a simple compilation of clips in MPEG 2 from a couple of mini dvd discs from a camcorder.  The clips are in 5.1.  I've extraced the audio so that they show on 3 different sound tracks beneath the video track (and have therefore activated the 5.1 codec.  Yet when I come to burn, all I can see under MPEG 2 in the advanced audio tab is the option of stereo or joint stereo.

Can anyone help?

(Thanks)

Hi

Make sure you are selecting Standard DVD  PAL or NTSC  AC3 as the Preset MPEG Encoder option.

You should then have three options for the sound:

MPEG Layer 2, PCM or AC3 - you need AC3

It is not necessary to split the surround sound channels unless you want to alter the spatial arrangement.
