How do I author my DVD with 2 audio Tracks over one video track, using Magix Movie Edit Pro MX Plus verions

srisudarshan wrote on 5/14/2012, 4:40 AM

I downloaded MTS files from my Sony Video Camera (AVCHD); I want to keep the source audio in one track and add music on the other track and narration on the third track so that viewers in PC or DVD player  can choose their preferences of what they want to listen to when viewing the video file.

I am able to add the audio tracks but when I render it for previewing, I can listen to all 3- tracks to the jarring of my ears. I want them to be seperate and give the viewers the good choice.

Could someone high light me on how do I do it? Thankful to members.

Hi.

I'm not sure whether I've understood your question correctly but you appear to suggest you want the viewers of your video to be able to choose which of the audio tracks they hear.  Is that right?

Or, more likely, do you want your viewers to be able to hear all three tracks "mixed" together such that the narration is not drowned out by the music or the source audio?

So, before anyone can give you a more complete answer, can you tell us which of the above is correct?

Jeff

Having never needed this facility I've never tried to do it before!  However, in VPX4 it seems quite possible (it's done by changing the audio settings on the timeline screen); unfortunately, in MEP (I'm running MX Premium) I can't see a way to do it!  Indeed, there seems to be no option there for creating multiple audio tracks on the DVD, with the user shown an Audio Menu with the option to choose which "track" they wish to hear.

So, as I say, it is possible in VPX4, but not in MEP, though I do stand to be corrected on this by other, more experienced users.

Let me download the trial version of VPX4. I have 8 GB RAM and hope the video rendering would be smooth for a video editing of 3 hours of video.

That sounds like a very good idea!  However, I'm not at all sure that you will be able to burn a 3 hour video, with these multiple audio tracks, to even a dual-layer DVD without some potentially noticeable loss of quality.  And you need to remember that not all DVD players seem able to handle dual-layer DVD discs.
