You did not mention Music Maker version, any way this example is from Music Maker 16 Premium. May be same for other versions.

Refer image below and click on 1 RECORD then 2 REC button I have marked in RED and start talking or singing.

But before you start recording you have to do some settings for Mic recording, computer mic or external mic. For details check pdf tutorial with text and images.
