How can i upgrade Magix Music Maker 16 to MMM16 Premium?

Hi,

I purchased MMM16 from a commercial retailer outside the US/Canada and was unaware I'd have to pay another charge to convert this effectively demo version to possessing its fullfunctionality.

I then went to the program and clicked Help-upgrade to Premium version

It then opened a window shamelessly promoting itself as cheap (US$29-95,  which is a fair price,  even though that's about $50 where I am) and all I need to apparently do is click the 'Buy Now' button and pay up and it's all fine and dandy.

Annoyed,  but deciding to just do what it wanted,  I clicked the 'Buy Now' button and it went to an online Magix shop (obviously) where only 3 products were listed :

Magix Music Maker MX

Magix Music Maker MX Premium

Magix Music Maker Production Suite

I'm confused because Magix Music Maker is currently at release 18,  yet even this product is not listed for upgrade using this upgrade link.

So,  where does anyone purchase upgrade packages for MMM16 if the upgrade link doesn't even list the NEWEST MMM upgrade?

MAGIX Music Maker MX (18) is the latest version and is the only one they are actively supporting.

It may be possible to get the MMM-16 Premium upgrade, but you will need to contact MAGIX directly.

Although I agree with you, they actually do/did have real "trial" versions of their software, which is even worse than the Basic version(s) you're calling a "demo".

Hi Procyon,

Thankyou for your reply,  I really appreciate someone doing so.

If I may do so,  I realize you likely understand why it is I referred to my software as a 'demo' version but,  just in case you may not have (I reread my writing and realize I may have come across as literally meaning this in the demo sense) - I meant that,  by not being the Premium upgraded version of MMM16,  it's limitations are similar to that of a demo program.

I am infuriated with Magix because I purchased this software at a large retail chain only a week ago and the box says NOTHING about upgrade purchases nor does it mention about older versions not being able to be upgraded due to release age (this one being from 2009).

Without a reliable link to where I can legally purchase this premium ugrade,  I feel absolutely robbed by Magix and almost entitled to seek some kind of illegal crack for it (which I wont do as I'd rather pay money for this).

The product says 'contact us' but they never respond,  'we're helpful' they claim,  but they aren't.

I'm obviously not super important,  but I am a customer of theirs and,  right now,  I'm a customer who's ready to take a wrecking ball to their reputation.

Hi

Your problem is not with Magix but the retailer you bought the software from.

Assuming you bought the boxed version then the software licence key will be on the CD sleeve - if this is missing then you need to take it up with the retailer.

AFAIK there has not been trial version of the boxed software available - which leads me to wonder if you have got a countefeit copy of the software - again you need to take this up with the retailer.

As this version is over 2 years old and 2 versions out of date,  I would not expect to get an upgrade 'offer' - in your case the verson 18 not appearing in the list is because the particular upgrade offered is to move from the Basic or Plus version to the Premium version within the same version number ie 16 and as this is now out of date the upgrade offer will not be available.

If the retailer provided you with a link to the software which you then had to download from one of the many software download sites, then they are 'fleecing' you for the link to something which is free to download from Magix and try. Again you need to take this up with the retailer.

Unfortunately unless you get some satisfaction from the retailer, and I think this is very unlikely because I think they are dumping old stock, it will be a case of biting the bullet and purchasing the latest version - if you do so then get at least the Premium version.

John
