How can I read old VIP files from ACL 2005 in new ACL ver 22?

I have been using Audio Cleaning Lab 2005 for many years. The old XP computer it ran on recently died, so I upgraded to ACL ver 22 to run on a newer computer under Windows 10. I have all the old VIP files backed up on a USB drive. However, when I try to read them into ACL 22, I get the error message "This is not a MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab file!". As I can no longer start up the old version, is there any way to open these files in ACL 22? And where does ACL save the associated audio files, which clearly aren't in the VIP files because they are too small?

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

I don't know the direct answer to your question about opening those older VIP files in the newer version but the answer to your second question, where are the audio files, is, essentially, wherever you stored them on the computer you were using when the VIP files were created!

As you surmise, those VIP files are "project" files, containing detailed instructions on how to treat specific sections of the original audio file to which they apply; they do not contain any actual audio. So, you need to point the VIP files to wherever the needed audio files are now, assuming you still have them. If you don't still have them then there is nothing you can do to be able to re-use those VIP files.
