Hi.

Not sure I fully understand what you are trying to do but if you are wanting to have an "image" super-imposed on your video (the image to be "ghosted", i.e. very feint) on the timeline I would place the photo on a track below where you have your video and audio and use the horizontal black line with a diamond in the middle which runs the length of your image's video object (the yellow box on the timeline.)  By dragging that diamond and centre line downwards you will effectively "fade" the photo and the video will show through it.  However, any colour in the photo is bound to "distort" the colour of your video unless you fade the photo to almost invisible.

Select the picture and then the Effects tab.

Select Video effects, Color in the dialog box set the Saturation slider to zero - this will convert the image to monochrome and preserve the colours of the underlying video.
