How can I hear my audio while recording it?

paperSquare wrote on 10/21/2009, 12:53 PM
I am unable to hear audio input coming from a microphone or from a line in from a keyboard while recording.  In looking through the Music Maker 15 documentation, it looks as though I need to activate a "Live Monitoring Button" located in the "Mixer Chanell", however I can not find any such button.  I have also read that in order to activate live monitoring, the Magix Low Latency driver must be in use - however, when I have set this to be my ASIO driver, not only do I get no sound when recording, but also nothing records that can be played back afterwards.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Hi,
You don't need to do any of that. In your record dialog window simply check the "playback while recording" button and you can monitor what you're recording.

You can also check the the track monitor button in the icon area of each track but do that ONLY if you have trouble with the playback while recording as this will cause you problems.

Hello

Click on rec (switches to audio rec...)
Press the spacebar to start playing the arrangement
The sound will monitor when ASIO driver is used
Monitor only works during playback and recording not while it's paused/stopped

p.s ASIO4ALL

Good Luck!

If you have playback while recording enabled AND you have the REC button activated in the blank track being recorded to; and you still can not hear what's currently being recorded then you do not have a full duplex sound card. That would be rare nowadays but not impossible. I would check the manufactures web site for new drivers and (as njambo suggested) try installing ASIO4ALL free from www.asio4all.com
The fact that you can hear some things while recording leads me to believe this is a driver issue and not a duplex issue.

@Meluunes_Tunes

Did you notice you had posted to a thread whose most recent previous entry is nearly 10 years old! Please do not resurrect such old threads but rather start a new one, with the details of your computer, version of MM you have, etc.. This post will tell you what we need to know!

In the meantime I will close this thread.
