How can I get a clean recording with Audio Cleaning Lab 17?

Hi all, Ive been using Audio Cleaning Lab for a while for editing etc but recently decided to try out vocal recording. Ive done this using tracks already on the computer and by singing over them as they record (karaoke!) but there seems to be a very high pitch/buzz in the background of the track when its recorded.

Im pretty new to all this stuff so any help on getting a clean recording would be much appreciated!

Thanks

What is your sound card?

That is going to be the first thing you need to determine. Sound cards is what will allow for a cleaner sound, but only if you understand the how to connect. The microphone will also have a bearing on the recording.

If you can let me know what you have, perhaps I can help with the setup and you can start recording with some clarity.

Do you actually have a soundcard, or just a basic sound chipset such as Realtek etc. This can lead to weak recordings. Whatever you have, make sure that the driver is up to date. Even if up to date, the performance remains limited at best if it's only a basic chipset.  We need more info here as John already stated, but include wat OS you're running it on too. Cheers, M o' L.
