how can I edit my video speed faster than factor 4 in movie edit pro 13?

I have recorded a very long process and I wish to speed the video up so that the viewer is not stuck watching hours of footage and getting bored. The problem I have is I've only imported half of my clips, changed all their speed to factor 4 and I am already up to 15mins of footage, if I add the rest it'll be over half an hour of video!!! not what I want!

When I used windows movie maker I could keep adding the double speed effect to make the clips faster, am I missing an effect that I should be using in Movie Edit Pro 2013? I'm new to the software, only started using it today!

Presumably you have audio linked to your video. If so the speed effects has a limited range as MEP will try and speed the soundtrack without altering the pitch (think squeaky chipmunks!). If you want a greater range you will have to first un-group andio and video. Select you clip and use the little broken chain icon above the timelines.

Note also that MEP does not limit you to doubling. The change can be any value you like. There is a stretch moue mode that lets you drag out a clip to exactly fill a space if needed, or go to the 'Effects' tab where you can enter a numeric value.

Thanks Carl! The audio thing makes sense, not sure I understand how I change the value of the speed though? Are you saying I can speed it up to whatever speed I like?
