High Speed LP Dubbing - Can It be Done?

I have 400+ LPs that I would like to burn to CDs and/or save on disk as MP3s. I am using ACL 12 on a PC with a Technics turntable patched into my sound card via a preamp.

Capturing each LP at 33 1/3 rpm is taking forever. I see that the new version of ACL MX has high speed cassette dubbing. Is there any way to "capture" an LP at 45 rpm and adjust tone and tempo (and whatever else might need to be adjusted) to make it sound right when played back?

I've played around a little bit but with no success. Is there any kind of Tutorial on this site that might get me started?

When replying, please keep in mind that I am not an Audio Engineer.

Hello,

Have a look at this post, it may help you out.

You should probably try it on a single track before you start your entire collection.  I think you will loose audio quality with this approach because the grooves were cut for 33.3 rpm and at the higher playback speed, you will most likely not get all of the frequency response of the original recording.

Good luck
