Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

Rather more detail about your computer and the actual version of the program you have would be very useful; see this post for the information we really need.

However, the most obvious question to ask is whether MM is allowed by your antivirus and/or firewall to contact the Magix servers?

Hi. Thanks for the additional information.

Unfortunately, there is still more precise details we need. "quad core" refers to your CPU, but precisely which CPU do you have? "8mb ram", I assume is intended to say 8GB RAM? "266 ghz", is presumably intended to refer to your CPU; in which case it is far more likely to be actually 2.66 GHz.

A quick Google search on that error code seems to suggest it means that an update has failed to install properly, which is sort of confirmed by what you've written.

You've also not confirmed whether or not your antivirus and firewall are correctly configured to allow your Magix programs to connect to the Magix server.

One other thing: have you rebooted your computer at least once since you attempted to install any updates?

My very strong suspicion is that there is something "not quite right" about the configuration of your computer and, in those circumstances, only Magix Technical Support can offer you the direct help you need. If you raise a support ticket here one of the first things they will ask you to do is to download and run their SysCheck utility. This runs a very full scan of your computer and sends the data to Magix, to allow their support staff to help to diagnose what the problem is on your computer.

HTH

@macker71165

The specification details are not sufficient we need the following:

  • Computer make and model and specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset make/model, audio card or chipset make/model, RAM,  hard drive configuration and sizes?

  • Antivirus (AV) program/ suite name and version?

  • Are you using Windows Firewall or has this been disabled by your AV program/suite if you are using a third party program.

EDIT: look like Jeff beat me to the question 😀

Hi

. . . . i sorted all my problems with a graphics card update . . . .

Thanks for letting us know. Was this a graphics card driver update or a new graphics card?

If a new graphics card can you post the make/model of the old one and the one you updated to.

Thanks
