Assuming you have already shut down and rebooted the PC.
Have you tried temporarily disabling anti-virus apps?

Sometimes the updater does not behave the way it should on some PCs. You may try a repair install (reinstall without uninstalling) using the latest SF Pro-14 build from the Magix Download Center.
