Help files installed incorrectly in Sound Forge 14 (build 65) 64-bit

If you press F1 to access the local Help files, nothing happened for me until I saw they were installed in the wrong place.

In my install, the files were placed at:

 C:\Program Files (x86)\SOUND FORGE Shared Plug-Ins\Pro\Help Files

but Sound Forge was looking here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Shared Plug-Ins\Help Files

After I copied them to that old location, the Help works fine.

I had upgraded from SF 12 and that was where they were placed back then, so I just copied from one place to the other.

Thanks for the tip. It seems like it should have worked, but it didn't work for me.

Make sure it looks like this, I may have made some other changes. You can also copy Forge140.chm to the same location as Forge140.exe and it should work.

I use Sysinternals Suite Procmon.exe to trace the registry calls when the 'F1' is pressed and it looks for Forge140.chm in a variety of locations that may be installation dependent, so it is best to look for yourself if what I wrote doesn't work for you.

Before I put it in that place, Procmon showed me a lot of locations Forge140 was looking, so it may depend on your paths settings.

Here is how it looks after I did the copy:

Procmon is your friend.
