Is it possible to blend a dark and light image togther to get results like what was done in this video tutorial. I wanted to see if I could do it in magix movie edit pro 2015
If you have MEP 2015 Plus or Premium, then you have the HDR and Gamma tools builtin, no need to do what is shown in the video. Just raise the HDR and adjust the HDR blur, add a little yellowish colour and you're done.
If you don't have the Plus or Premium, then you will have to experiment.
I know how to do the gama high mid and low I wish I could control all 3 seperatly I found with chroma key you can do it the only problem is the video size becomes huge after doing 3 videos on top of each other to adjust each part of the video the highs and lows. Looks nice though. Instead of 1 gig file it became 17 gigs since I did so many videos on top of each other.
See my first point. You must have the basic version so no HDR and no gamma control on Lows, Mid and Highs, I presume.
Here is what the screens look like:
You can see above in the inset the commands under the Gamma popdown.
Below is an image at sundown with only some white balance correction.
Below is the same clip with HDR and Gamma highs effects:
Nicer? Here are the settings:
Below is the same image but with Gamma highs up to +67 instead of down. I had to adjust the HDR Blur to get rid of more haloing:
Next is using Pixelan Filmtouch2 Pro, and playing with some of the settings manually. The screen is split diagonally with the original at the lower left.
You might want to try out Pixelan FilmTouch 2 Pro to see the controls that you have. It is quite amazing. You can start with looking at the hundreds of presets, selecting one and then modifying the settings.

Found it thanks. I just wish I could do the low mid and high all on the same video at the sametime to tweak it all. I found if you do a video then use chroma you can blend them togther but the video file gets 3 times the size by doing it that way. Looks good though.
