Hi

. . . . All Object Synthiziers needed an overhaul, but ... instead Magix has removed them !??! Is that true ? . . . .

The three Object Synthesizers are installed with MMM 2017 Premium, however there is no Object Synthesizer option in the Synthesizer media pool, and a you have found if you try to add them nothing happens.

Also there is no mention of the three Object Synthesizers in the manual.

Aaargh! Wrote up a reply to the other thread, pressed the button and my message disappeared.

The .syn files are there under ProgramData including Atmos and Livid, but there is no way to access them from the program. In creating the new Media pool window, someone forgot the synths. Either that or this is a downgrade.

We need to raise this with Magix, along with a few other things that we found that don't work properly.

The other 2 that I can think of are:

Can't make a loop out of a MIDI object created in the project. Imported ones work fine;
In the Advanced part of the recording parameters, "Normalize after recording" does nothing, and hasn't for at least two versions. I raised this before, to no avail.

Anything else? (Copy to clipboard in case the above disappears.)

The new Media Pool window can be toggled using F2. I wonder how many users will find that.

John actually gave me the key !! :) You CAN make it work, if you'll have to drag the synths from Pathfinder. Wuhueeee. The MAGIC is BACK !!!

If any of you figure out how to 'hack' or trick MMM2017P to include them in instrument pane, pls. let me know.

Or even better : Let us up Magix beats us to it :)

Thanks for checking. I'll open a ticket on my part later if I still have the internet.

Going for a walk before the sun goes down and to maybe get a few photos or the surroundings.

I'm using Terry's method of bringing only a cell phone on trips. I was quite surprised to see that TRA in VPX located my photos on the map and drew a line between 2 adjacent photos from the timeline, like the first one in one location and the second in another.

I posted yesterday and once again, my post disappeared. Aaargh!

I received and anwser from Magix finally and they are dropping these synthesizers, which is why there is no obvious way to access them. However, the workaround is embarrasingly easy and one of us should have tried it. Here is the reply:

"1) This is not a bug. They are only in to avoid compatibillity issues with older project files. You can still drag & drop the *.syn files from the directory into your project. Further releases will not include the object synths due to technical problems and further developments. There are a lot of VSTI out there, where you can do the same and much more using Music Maker."

I tried it and it works fine. I tried copying the Synth folder to the VST folder and adding the path to VST in MMM, but that did nothing. I created a Windows Explorer shortcut on the Desktop to open to:

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music Maker Premium\2017\Synth

so that I can get to the syn files quickly. I couldn't find another way to get them to show up in MMM. Even the file manager now seems weak as I can no longer create linked folders.

Too bad that they don't show up in MMM, but at least they work. Maybe someone else has a bright idea.

Below are the Questions and Answers to the other 2 questions that I had.

2) Q: The function to create a loop from a MIDI object created in the project does
not work. A: This issue is still in the process. Forthcoming updates of music maker may do the trick.

3) Q: In the Advanced part of the recording parameters, General Options "Normalize
after recording" does nothing, and has not worked for at least two versions of
Music Maker. A: Yep. This issue is also in the process. My advice: Finalize your mix using your music studio, so you've got a bit headroom for advanced editing.

The other alternative is to Normalize manually after recording.

I will probably post the above to the MM part of the Forum for reference.
