Got Hacked from Music Maker connected EMAIL Adress

Shadony wrote on 5/9/2022, 5:34 PM

I never had an Issue with hacking before I had purchased the new Music Maker 64-Bit.

They used the email address I use ONLY with Magix.com and tried to login this email account.

They would have been able to If MSN now Outlook didn't stop this.

I am not pleased with this !

Make sure that email addresses are more protected if you want someone to share them with you !

Hello, welcome

This is an open public user to user forum with no Magix support.

The MSN message you received could possibly be a fake email.

Sometimes you will be asked to click "Review activities" which takes you to a non Microsoft account, a fake account to steal your login credentials.

Microsoft usually has a green shield on the sender's name to identify it's genuine.

I would strongly recommend that you clear your PC of viruses or malware, then immediately change or reset your password and make sure to create a strong password. To make sure that there are no changes made with your account settings, you may review it and check the information that needs to be updated.

Additionally, you may see Help protect your Outlook.com email account for some tips on how to avoid your account being hacked or compromised in the future. To reinforce the security of your account, you may consider using two-step verification.

You can contact infoservice@magix.net to double check your account.

Delete the whole thread. The email was an alert send to me for a login attempt made by above IP. I don't do just weekend internet surfing. I know my way around. Good Luck containing the backdoor to your servers from these clowns.

Hi

There have been a very large number of people receiving phishing emails with reports of suspicious activity from this and several related IP addresses all saying the same thing - the connection with you purchasing Music Maker is tenuous at best..

The IP address is not the originating address - it is a spoof, the IP address quoted belongs to a US advertising entity, and the geographiccal locations are fake.

Hopefully you have not clicked on any of the links in the email or other emails purporting to be reports of hacking eg from an account with Google, Microsoft etc.
