Fullscreen preview doesn't work properly

Balcerek wrote on 11/20/2022, 11:55 AM

After switching the fullscreen on and dragging a footage on timeline picture preview works in external monitor and in window.
When I try to change second window to other mode e.g. wave-editor, preview freezes on external monitor and in the window.
In second window changing of mode doesn't work - it still shows the frozen frame.
Everything starts working when I click double on footage in import tab. Then the footage is played on both.
Then again - trying to change second window mode freezes all.

Had anyone this problem and  know how to resolve it ?

@Balcerek

Hi,

I think that we have a language problem. Could you please show some screen shots?

What do you mean by "wave-editor?" There isn't one within the program, only as an external audio editor. Do you mean the Audio Cleaning dialogue?

",,,dragging a footage on timeline..." means that you are dragging a video clip around on the timeline. I think you mean that you are dragging the playback marker. Correct?

To get correct terms, you have a Preview monitor and Source Monitor; they are identified at the very top, middle of the window. To confuse the issue, previewing something in the Import tab will play it in the Source Monitor, not the Preview Monitor. Whatever is on the timeline plays back on the Preview Monitor, not in the Source Monitor unless you change the parameters of the Source Monitor to a Comparison Image.

@browj2

Hi,

sorry, I'm not the best in english :)
I hope the picture below shows better what I mean.

Ok, I will try to write it again using new vocabulary:

1) I start new project,
2) I set "video output activated" in program settings/device options, because I want to have fullscreen preview on my tv.
3) I drag and drop my video clip from import tab to timeline,
4) When I play the clip on timeline using "space" I don't see picture on tv and in any window. All is black.
5) When I click twice on clip in Import tab, picture appears on tv and in source window. Playing proces from source works good.
6) I want to watch a wave diagram so I choose "wavemonitor" mode in source window menu.
7) From this moment picture on tv and in source monitor freezes, and source window doesn't change to "wavemonitor".
8) When I press "space" I only hear an audio part, and picture is frozen.
9) I click twice on clip in import tab again and preview starts work.
10) I try choose "wavemonitor" from source window again and then previews in all windows and on tv freezes again. This is repeatable process.

@Balcerek

Hi

From your previous post here,

. . . . I upgraded my old MEP2015 to VPX 14 . . . . I have only intel GPU . . . .

What is the model number of the Intel GPU, or the Intel processors full model number?

Can you post a screen shot of the Program settings dialog showing the Device options tab so we can see what the options are as shown in the example image below:

BTW,

VPX doesn't remember "video output activated".
This option is checked, but tv doesn't change mode after VPX start.
I have to go to menu, uncheck this option, confirm ok. Next I go to menu and check it again. Only then tv is turn on in fullscreen mode.

Actually, any of these modes don't work when fullscreen is on.
